Backend: - Image 404 default - Restructure log page - Color tags for text - Enhanced editing - Webhook to Discord for updates -- #quest-discussion -- 3 hr cooldown - Push notifications for watcher and in-thread - Anonpone style landing page that leads to individual quest indexes - Individual quest index that builds automatically from OP name and subject -- Individual threads treated as chapters with the option for QMs to name them with the subject via a "This is the quest name: This is the chapter name" format. -- Come up with a way for user generated synopsis to work mechanically without accounts. Maybe just use their first post wholesale? -- Include various ques stats on the index - Figure out how tagging should work. -- Use the email field no one uses? -- Updates index table on each post, only need to include tags on new threads when they want to update them, applied automatically when not included FrontEnd: - Queue posts - Thread Resumer - https://gitgud.io/mys_elf/nhnb-thread-resumer/-/blob/main/NHNB_Thread_Resumer.user.js#bypass=true - icon selection in post box - Image hovering - https://anon.cafe/sw/ https://8chan.moe/

-Could add text explaining what these do on hover. Especially the last two may trip up tech illiterate people. -Default settings tab should be Other, really. -Being able to Ctrl+V images to upload is always good

Other tntative features: - (you) - disable trash bin - disable per-board reports - add report queue to the navbar
Edited last time by amm on 07/02/2021 (Fri) 19:41:49.
- Cast 'delete' to trash and force the extra step to fully delete posts unless admin? -- remove delete option unless admin - add 'default to catalog' option to settings - make board title and banner in threads link back to index

- Allow IPs to edit own posts within timeframe
- add dropdown selection to report allowing the selection of a rule - force all reports to be global (bottom form and inline form)
- unspoiler button to compliment spoiler
- Relative time selection should consume the normal time selection - Time selection drop down: absolute, local, relative

Add a proper missing image placeholder, unhandled 404s are a bad look.
- Color tags for text (not essential, but a nice option to have) - code tags/markdown (not sure if our markdown implementation does it, might be irrelevant if we don't move away from monospaced fonts) - markdown/formatting legend in reply pane - "expand all images" link/user option to auto-expand images from thumbnails

Add discord/social media embeds to thread links, containing OP image and some of the text. 500 chars at a reduced font size should do the trick and avoid walls of text.
- OPonly mode for threads

- File details have an odd linebreak. Unsure at which part it breaks, could be text wrapping or a proper linebreak. - Need to add a new post button at bottom of thread; Post numbers still don't work as the reply button, thus one needs to scroll to the top to make a new post. Maybe a reply box button in the top menu like 4chanx adds? - Grievous lack of skeletons - Add list of accepted filetypes to upload form, and add clientside js to notify the user when a wrong filetype is being uploaded. Current behavior is non-accepted filetypes are simply ignored from bad upload, bad UX. - Navigation bar still needs hover popups explaining the function of each button, some buttons unclear

- Middle click doesn't work on threads sidebar, this is inintuitive behavior. Weird javascripty on-click stuff?
>>63 Nevermind, post numbers work as quick reply button now -Consider adding a font selector besides the theme selector; The board is focused on reading, make the experience as pleasant as possible. What to include besides arial and news roman? Need input if I'm thinking too much about this aspect (Feature already overlaps with built in custom css) or if it's still reasonable - Remove specific fonts from most sections in the css, and centralize that completely into body{}. Not the kind of site that really needs element-specific fonts and it's a bother to override it in several places for each theme. -font-family: Icons is defined about a dozen times in the css. Turn that into a single selector and apply it to all things that currently define that? -Show thread page in watched threads window, highlight with red when in last page.
>>64 They're not technically links since they have no href attribute. Not sure how the sidebar works, I'll look into it. Might be as simple as adding a href. >>65 > -Consider adding a font selector besides the theme selector; The board is focused on reading, make the experience as pleasant as possible. What to include besides arial and news roman? Need input if I'm thinking too much about this aspect (Feature already overlaps with built in custom css) or if it's still reasonable The font selector seems like it falls squarely into the custom CSS to me. If it's heavily desired, sure, but I'd rather not litter the navbar more than necessary. >- Remove specific fonts from most sections in the css, and centralize that completely into body{}. Not the kind of site that really needs element-specific fonts and it's a bother to override it in several places for each theme. There's only three 'fonts' on the default and Clear themes. [aa]'s for chinese characters, the default for the entire site, and the 'icon' font which supports icons. I don't know why the default is specially specified for forms. > -font-family: Icons is defined about a dozen times in the css. Turn that into a single selector and apply it to all things that currently define that? That's my fault. I'll add 'cleaning up the CSS code' to my todo list. > -Show thread page in watched threads window, highlight with red when in last page. Yes to the later, no to the former. I'm trying to avoid information noise. Good idea with the highlight.
>>65 >- File details have an odd linebreak. Unsure at which part it breaks, could be text wrapping or a proper linebreak. Ah, I see now. I'll have to modify the reply js to reflect the new post structure. All the html is probably in the js.
- In gallery mode, clicking outside the images proper doesn't toggle out of gallery mode. Inintuitive, bad UX.
being able to queue up multiple posts would be nice for preventing update interruptions test edit

Enhanced editing.
Adding image-editing functionality for both Moderators and Posters would be good functionality. Could potentially give the poster's image editing feature the same restrictions to prevent abuse if that's a concern, but authors could potentially want to come back and change images they've posted to make corrections. Having to pester mods to make image changes could be a problem, but that's up to you to decide.

Banned a feller in /chat/ for advertising.
One of my readers said that it would be nice if the reply interface could somehow also appear at the bottom of the screen to facilitate proper responses to quest text without having to scroll up and down away from the text. Don't know how doable that is, however.
